It is probably pretty safe depending on the encryption algorithms. ANS
has offered this for years with their Interlock, and IBM and Sun have
introduced similar products in the last year.

It doesn't replace private networks where you need a guaranteed level
of bandwidth because of the unpredictability of the Internet.
